It is the season when we hope you have the opportunity to gather with loved ones and reflect on what matters most. We know all too well though that this time of year can feel overwhelming. Amid the noise and haste, it can be difficult to adhere to values that reflect care and meaning.
We know you have so many options of where and how to give. But as a member of our community, you likely already know what we stand for, what we work toward, how much your support matters, and how far it reaches.
Below, we’ve gathered MERS giving options that reflect care for loved ones, ocean ecosystems, and the future we share. Thank you. 💙

1. Wear Whales. Tell Their Stories.
As part of our 15th anniversary, we have sustainable goods featuring 15 ambassador whales. By wearing these shirts and using these bags, you help spark conversations and inspire action that benefits the whales and all they represent.
We’ve even bundled the stories of these 15 ambassadors to make it even easier to walk and talk for the whales!

2. Donations
MERS is a registered Canadian charity. Donations over $25 are tax deductible.
When you indicate the donation to MERS is a gift, your giftee will receive a message revealing your thoughtfulness and how your donation supports marine conservation.
Monthly donations are particularly helpful as they better allow us to budget and use the support as matching funds in grant applications.
3. Humpback Whale Sponsorships
We have a variety of sponsorship packages featuring some of our ambassador whales. All packages include 1-year of sponsor-exclusive, online access to your whale’s biography, photos, and updates about sightings.

4. Additional Gifts From the Ocean Store
Our Ocean Store has a wide variety of marine-themed, sustainable, high-quality items. It’s the ideal place to find eco-friendly gifts that support our marine conservation efforts AND local artists and businesses with a strong environmental ethic. Please have a look at the wide variety of GOODS in the Ocean Store. You can also visit us in Port McNeill at #19, 1705 Campbell Way.
